How do I check whether a college in Goa is genuine?
Two UGC documents settle it, and both are linked from this page. The first is the consolidated list of universities, where a recognised institution carries an entry number. The second is the UGC's state-wise list of fake universities, which names institutions that have no authority to award a degree at all. A college that awards a degree must be on the first list and absent from the second. For an affiliated college rather than a university, check that its parent university is on the first list, because the degree comes from the parent.
Which scholarship portal do students in Goa use?
National Scholarship Portal applies for state schemes, and central schemes run through the National Scholarship Portal at scholarships.gov.in. Both are linked on this page. CollegeJaancho does not print scheme amounts or income limits anywhere on this site, because they are revised every session and a stale figure misleads a family. The scheme's own page always carries the current condition.
